Connect Finals
'Without Impunity'
During 2020 monthly meetings favorites were selected for a finals competition.
A cover with filter can be placed onto the artwork or one can chose to use a hand viewer.
Here is the installation from a distance. The artwork was backlit by an LED light panel.
The event was "On the Air" via Youtube. Here I am with Mark Putscher of Connect.
Entitled "Without Impunity" the artwork means to depict WWII with it's horror and ulitimate end with the fall of the Nazis. The piece has images appearing and disappearing; the subject losses her hair and is surrended by other prisoners, then a skyline of rubble and a bomber in the air, finally the Nuremberg trials go 'On the Air' and the Nazis are 'Without Impunity'.
Fundamentally it is a recreation of Gustav Klimt's famous work "Portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer I" or the "Woman in Gold".
